Company Mission

We remove the feasibility of doubt and dread resulting from our systems, and we promote the purpose that arises from an elevated mentality that is forged through the lifelong disciplined pursuit of a skill or study.

Site creator, Dave Thomson:

"WORKING HARD AT A SKILL OR STUDY, PERHAPS IN ISOLATION, PERHAPS INVOLVING HAND-EYE COORDINATION, OVER A PROLONGED PERIOD OF TIME MAY BE A HEIGHTENED FORM OF MEDITATION AND PATHWAY TO A HIGHER LEVEL OF MENTALITY. PERHAPS THIS LEVEL OF MENTALITY ACQUIRED FROM THE LONG TERM PURSUIT OF A SKILL OR STUDY ALLOWS YOU TO PERCEIVE YOUR TRUE ROLE/JOB WITHIN THE PLIGHT OF HUMANITY. PERHAPS YOU SHOULD PURSUE YOUR CHOSEN SKILL OR STUDY REGARDLESS OF CURRENT REWARDS OR RECOGNITION FOR IT SO YOU CAN ACQUIRE A HIGHER LEVEL OF MENTALITY AND LEARN YOUR TRUE ROLE WITHIN HUMANITY, FOR THE BENEFIT OF HUMANITY. I WILL TRY TO ASSIST YOU WITH THIS THROUGH THIS PLATFORM AND OTHER INITIATIVES I HAVE PLANNED.

I THINK IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE REALIZE THAT PEOPLE MOST LIKELY ARE NOT ACTING PURPOSEFULLY WHEN THE DO WRONG ACTIONS OR MAKE ERRORS. WE LEARNED THIS AFTER BURNING PEOPLE TO DEATH FOR 300 YEARS FOR ACTING LIKE A WITCH: PEOPLE DID WRONG ACTIONS OR ERRORS, DESPITE KNOWING THEY WOULD GET BURNED TO DEATH FOR IT, SO OBVIOUSLY THEY DID NOT DO THESE WRONG ACTIONS OR ERRORS ON PURPOSE. SO PEOPLE TODAY ARE ALSO MOST LIKELY NOT DOING WRONG ACTIONS OR ERRORS ON PURPOSE.

HOWEVER, CURRENTLY, EVERY SYSTEM WE OPERATE UNDER HAS INGRAINED IN THEM THE POSSIBILITY OF WRONG ACTIONS AND ERRORS. IT IS ODD THAT WE DO NOT REVISE OR REPLACE OUR SYSTEMS TO REMOVE THE POSSIBILITY OF WRONG ACTIONS OR ERRORS (CONSIDERING WE SPENT 300 YEARS BURNING PEOPLE TO DEATH FOR ACTIONS THEY OBVIOUSLY DIDN'T DO ON PURPOSE). IF A SYSTEM ALLOWS FOR WRONG ACTIONS OR ERRORS, THEN IT IS TO BE BLAMED, AND NOT THE INDIVIDUAL WHO COMMITTED IT. A SYSTEM THAT ALLOWS FOR WRONG ACTIONS OR ERRORS MUST BE REVISED OR REPLACED TO REMOVE THE POSSIBILITY OF THE WRONG ACTION OR ERROR FROM HAPPENING AGAIN."

Terms of Use

Live Industry Radio Terms of Use (updated Sun May 3 2026)

Welcome to Live Industry Radio!

Intro (I)

I - 1) We reserve the right to update these Terms of Use as needed. Continuing to use Live Industry Radio (hereinafter “LIR”) after an update to these Terms of Use constitutes your agreement to the updated terms. Every time you log into LIR or visit the 'homepage' after logging in requires agreement to our Terms of Use, which will indicate the date of the last update. All new Terms of Use content added on the indicated date's Terms of Use update will be highlighted with a background color.

I - 2) By creating a Fan account with us, and any of the 6 other account types, you warrant that you have read and understand these Terms of Use, and will abide by them. When you apply for any of the other 6 account types (Musician, Band, Host, Studio, Manufacturer or VideoService), you warrant that you have read and understand the different sections within these Terms of Use that are applicable to the account being applied for.

I - 2A) By clicking any button, checkbox, or other electronic mechanism indicating agreement to these Terms of Use, by creating an account, or by continuing to access or use the Live Industry Radio platform after being presented with these Terms of Use, you acknowledge and agree that such electronic acceptance constitutes a legally binding agreement between you and Live Industry Radio. You agree that electronic acceptance has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature.

I - 3) You warrant that you are at least 18 years of age, or at least 13 years of age with your parent’s or legal guardian’s consent.

I - 4) Live Industry Radio collects information that users voluntarily submit through forms on the platform and may also automatically collect limited technical information necessary for the operation, security, and improvement of the website, including device information, IP addresses, cookies, and server logs; information submitted by users will not be sold or distributed to third parties except as required to operate the platform’s services, comply with legal obligations, or as otherwise described in these Terms of Use.

Who we are (WWA)

WWA - 1) LIR is a music-based social media website designed to provide an alternative to the music industry. All users sign up as a Fan, which is the user account. From their Fan account, users can apply to upgrade their Fan account to Musician, or apply for any of the other 6 account types (Band, Host, Studio, Manufacturer or VideoService), which represents the various key sections of the music industry. When an application for Musicianship or any of the 6 other account types is approved by administration, these accounts are then “Linked” to your Fan account, which allows you to operate within those accounts. Accounts may be composed of multiple Linked Fans.

WWA - 2) After upgrading your Fan account to Musician, you can create a Band account. Songs can be uploaded only through a Band account, which allows the people who own the Song to receive money monthly for the song streams, depending on how often they are streamed that month and how much a song stream is worth during that much, in our Rights Receiver Payment System (RRPS) system. Your Band account can also receive money monthly through our Band Bonus (BB) system, which allows Bands to allocate their free money internally towards the products and services of music industry companies who have signed up for either a Studio, Manufacturer (retailers and manufacturers of audio hardware and software), or VideoService (people who make music videos) accounts.

WWA - 3) The use of this site will always be free for all account types. Streaming music will always be free, unlimited and uninterrupted. Fans must pay to purchase live-music event tickets (live-music events are called Host Public Events (HPE)) and to advertise. Fans can also pay to 'Donate' (optional), which requires a $50 deposit (plus transaction fee), through which they pay half a cent to the song owners of their subscribed Band's songs. This money goes to the song owners directly without any deductions, and removes all ads from the site for the Donator. There is a 'Ticket Surcharge' placed on every ticket sold (paid for by the ticket purchaser), which is how we pay musicians (together with all advertising revenue, after subtracting the Site Expenses from the total of both) on our site each month in our Rights Receiver Payment System and Band Bonus system. The more tickets and advertising sold in a month, the more each song stream could be worth that month, and the more Bands could receive to spend on products and services needed to produce their music. For example, if there is $10 000 from ticket surcharge and advertising money collected in a month, zero Site Expenses, and 1 000 000 song streams, then each song stream would be worth $0.01. Please refer to sections RRPS and RBBM below for more detail, as well as the Finance section.

WWA - 4) Live Industry Radio operates as a hosting platform that stores and transmits content uploaded by users. Live Industry Radio does not create, produce, or independently select musical works uploaded by users and does not operate as a broadcaster of music content.

WWA - 5) Live Industry Radio also operates as a restaurant ordering and fulfillment platform (“Restaurant App”), allowing participating restaurants to offer meals for pickup or delivery in connection with livestream events and, where available, as standalone orders. Restaurants operate as independent third-party businesses and are solely responsible for all aspects of their operations, including but not limited to food preparation, safety, quality, pricing, availability, and fulfillment.

WWA - 6) Live Industry Radio provides the technical infrastructure to connect Fans with restaurants but does not prepare, handle, inspect, or deliver food. Live Industry Radio is not a restaurant, food provider, or delivery service, and assumes no liability for any restaurant-related activity, including but not limited to food safety, order accuracy, preparation timing, or delivery outcomes.

WWA - 7) Restaurants are solely responsible for complying with all applicable laws, including health regulations, food safety standards, licensing requirements, tax obligations, and employment laws. Live Industry Radio does not verify or guarantee restaurant compliance.

Uploading content (UC)

Upload Requirements

UC - 1) All Song Creditors (song owners, be it person or corporate entity) of Songs uploaded to a Band account must have a Fan account that has been upgraded to Musician. If all Song Creditors do not have a Fan account that has been upgraded to Musician, then the song must not be uploaded, and is in violation of copyright laws. All account types may be warned and/or suspended and/or banned following copyright infringement.

UC - 2) All Song Creditors must be listed during Song upload, and have their proper percentage listed.

UC - 2A) A Song uploaded by a Band to Live Industry Radio must be confirmed by all listed Song Creditors before the Song becomes available on the platform. Each Song Creditor must individually confirm their ownership share of the Song, approve the percentage allocation attributed to them in the upload, approve the Song upload itself, and represent and warrant that they possess the authority to grant Live Industry Radio the rights necessary to host, stream, and communicate their share of the Song through the platform. By confirming the upload, each Song Creditor acknowledges and agrees to the ownership percentage recorded for the Song within the platform.

Copyright and Rights Representations

UC - 3) LIR will not be held liable for damages resulting from Bands uploading Songs without listing all Song Creditors.

UC - 4) LIR will not be held liable for any loss of income that occur resulting from a Band account being suspended or terminated due to site down time, account activities that violate these Terms of Use, or account activities that infringe or violate the rights of any third party or any applicable laws or regulations.

UC - 5) The process of uploading content to Live Industry Radio from any account type (including uploading Songs by Bands, which includes a Band listing all Song Creditors and their percentages and the Song Creditors agreeing to the upload and their allocated percentages) grants Live Industry Radio a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, stream, and publicly communicate the content through the Live Industry Radio platform. This license exists solely for the purpose of operating the platform and enabling users to access the content through the platform’s streaming and related functionality.

UC - 6) All content must be an original work by a member of the account uploading the content, or all rights and licenses to use the content must have been acquired by the member of the account and be applicable for its use on Live Industry Radio.

UC - 7) By uploading any musical composition or sound recording to Live Industry Radio, you represent and warrant that you control the public performance rights necessary for the streaming and communication of the work on this platform.

UC - 8) Songs whose public performance rights are administered by a Performance Rights Organization (including but not limited to SOCAN, ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, PRS or similar organizations) may not be uploaded to Live Industry Radio. Live Industry Radio operates on a direct-rights model in which Song Creditors retain control over the public performance rights of the works uploaded to the platform.

UC - 8A) Each Song Creditor who confirms participation in a Song upload represents and warrants that they control the public performance rights associated with their share of the Song and possess the authority to grant Live Industry Radio a direct license to publicly perform the work through the platform. If any Song later becomes administered by a Performing Rights Organization (PRO), the Song Creditors must promptly remove the Song from the Live Industry Radio platform.

UC - 8B) Live Industry Radio operates exclusively as a direct-rights platform. All works made available through the platform are uploaded by users who represent and warrant that they control the rights necessary to authorize the streaming and public communication of those works through Live Industry Radio. Live Industry Radio relies on these representations and does not obtain blanket public performance licenses from Performing Rights Organizations for works uploaded by users.

UC - 8C) Live Industry Radio relies in good faith on the representations and warranties made by users during the content upload and confirmation process. Live Industry Radio does not independently verify ownership or licensing rights for uploaded works and hosts such works based on the representations provided by the uploading users and the Song Creditors confirming the upload.

UC - 8D) Live Industry Radio's upload system requires confirmation by all listed Song Creditors before a Song becomes available on the platform. This confirmation process is designed to ensure that the rights holders themselves verify the ownership and licensing authority for the work, and Live Industry Radio relies on these confirmations when making the Song available through the platform. The confirmation actions performed by Song Creditors during the upload process may be recorded by the platform as part of the Song’s upload record. Live Industry Radio may also use automated audio fingerprinting technologies through third-party services to detect potential matches with previously registered works. Content identified through such systems may be flagged for manual review or removal.

Platform License and Content Handling

UC - 9) By uploading any audio or audiovisual work to Live Industry Radio, you grant Live Industry Radio a non-exclusive worldwide license to host, transmit, stream, cache, reproduce and display the work for the purpose of operating the platform.

UC - 10) Live Industry Radio reserves the right to request documentation verifying ownership or licensing rights for any uploaded content. Failure to provide such documentation may result in removal of the content or suspension of the account.

UC - 11) Submitting false or misleading information regarding ownership or licensing of a work may result in account suspension, removal of the content, and possible legal action.

UC - 12) Live Industry Radio may use automated fingerprinting or other detection technologies to identify potentially infringing content. Content flagged by such systems may be subject to manual review or removal.

UC - 13) Uploading content to Live Industry Radio does not transfer ownership of the work to Live Industry Radio. Ownership remains with the rights holders identified during the upload process.

UC - 14) All Song Creditors listed for a Song uploaded to Live Industry Radio must control the public performance rights associated with the Song and possess the authority to grant Live Industry Radio the rights necessary to host, stream, and publicly communicate the Song through the platform.

UC - 15) Live Industry Radio reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to remove, disable access to, restrict, mute, or otherwise limit the availability of any content uploaded to the platform at any time, including but not limited to situations involving legal risk, copyright disputes, policy enforcement, technical considerations, or operational decisions. Users acknowledge and agree that Live Industry Radio shall not be liable for any loss of exposure, loss of audience, loss of revenue, or other damages resulting from the removal or restriction of content.

Creating A Host Public Event as a Host (CHPE)

CHPE – 1) You must adhere to all applicable laws governing your event.

CHPE – 2) LIR will not be held responsible for any losses, damages or injury that may occur at your event.

CHPE – 3) LIR is a conduit for ticket sales. LIR is not associated with any Host. LIR is not an agent for any Host.

CHPE – 3a) LIR is currently designed exclusively for public events hosted in commercial or approved venues. To ensure the safety of all attendees and the legal protection of the platform and its users, private residential events, house parties, or gatherings held at non-commercial properties are strictly prohibited from being listed, promoted, or ticketed through the LIR platform. All events hosted through Live Industry Radio must occur at licensed venues or commercial spaces that maintain active liability insurance and comply with local occupancy laws, noise bylaws, and public safety regulations. Hosts are solely responsible for ensuring their event venue meets these criteria. Any attempt to host a private, residential, or non-compliant event may result in immediate cancellation of the event, including full ticket refunds, suspension or termination of the host account, permanent removal from the platform in cases of repeated or willful violation. Live Industry Radio assumes no liability for any unauthorized or unapproved use of the platform for private events.

CHPE - 3b) Live Industry Radio provides ticketing and event listing services only and does not guarantee ticket sales, attendance levels, performer participation, event success, or financial outcomes for any Host or event.

CHPE – 4) We apply a 'Ticket Surcharge' on all tickets sold, through which we pay musicians through our Rights Receiver Payment and Band Bonus systems.

So, even if your event is free, it will still cost attendees the Ticket Surcharge amount ($6), plus tax and a transaction fee to enter your event. This money goes to pay musicians in our Rights Receiver Payment and Band Bonus systems. Ticket money must be collected via a card through our system so we can use the Ticket Surcharge to pay musicians and run the site. This is why all Live Industry Radio events must be 'NO CASH' events.

CHPE – 5) Hosts that do not have controlled entrances in which all tickets are redeemed (scanned) through the LIR Host Door app at their free events may be banned. If your event is free, all event goers must have a Live Industry Radio account, and have bought a $6 + tax + transaction fee ticket to get in. This is because we use this money to pay musicians in our systems. If you do not have controlled entrances at your event, you are abusing our system at the expense of musicians

CHPE – 6) In order for a Host to receive ticket money, tickets must be 'redeemed' (scanned) at the door, using our LIR Host Door app. This app is currently only available for Android phones, and is available at the Google Play Store. Money from redeemed tickets is transferred to the Host Stripe account 7 days after your event date. To scan tickets, Hosts can only access their events in the LIR Host Door app to redeem tickets on the day of the event, or the day after the event (in case it goes past midnight). There is a practice demo event available on the App, in which Hosts can review the scanning process prior to an event, as well as the sign up process for new users who are buying a ticket at the door.

CHPE – 6a) LIR is not responsible for any payment processing errors, chargebacks, or delays in Stripe payouts. LIR facilitates ticket transactions but does not act as a financial intermediary. Any disputes related to Stripe transactions must be handled directly with Stripe.

CHPE – 7) In the LIR Host Door app, if users come to an event without a ticket, they must first sign up for a new account before they can use a card to pay for a ticket. This feature is only available to new users of the site - users who already have a LIR account must first pay for a ticket on their own, and present it at the door to be scanned. It is recommended that door people have 2 phones - one to scan tickets, and one to have new users sign up to the site to pay for a ticket, as this takes longer.

Since Live Industry Radio is currently only available to Canadians, non-residents of Canada do not sign up for a new account, but rather they can simply enter their email to receive the ticket receipt after purchase.

CHPE – 8) Host Public Events may offer one or more ticket types, each with its own ticket price and number of available tickets. Ticket sales are final except in the circumstances described below. If a Band is dropped by the Host (removed from the event’s Band Roster and no longer scheduled to perform) or cancels its appearance, tickets purchased after that Band was added to the event become eligible for a refund. Tickets purchased before the Band was added remain final sale. Tickets purchased after the Band is removed or cancels are also final sale unless a subsequent Band cancellation, removal, or other qualifying event change makes them eligible for a refund. Live Industry Radio reserves the right, in accordance with our Terms of Use, to delay the transfer of ticket-sale funds to the Host—which normally occurs on the seventh day after the event—and/or take other measures for the benefit of Fans if a Band does not perform but remains on the Band Roster through the event date, including where this may have prevented tickets from becoming eligible for a refund. If the Host changes the event date or location, or postpones the event by temporarily removing its date, all tickets purchased before that change become eligible for a refund. Tickets purchased after the change remain final sale unless a subsequent qualifying change occurs. Eligible tickets may be refunded at any time before the event or during the six days following the event, provided they have not been scanned or otherwise redeemed for event access and the ticket-sale funds have not yet been transferred to the Host. Tickets that are eligible for a refund may still be used to access the event normally. If the event is cancelled, all tickets will be refunded automatically. Ticket buyers will be notified by email when an event change makes their tickets eligible for a refund, including a Band cancellation or removal, location change, date change, or postponement. Ticket buyers will also be notified when a new Band is added to the event; adding a Band does not make previously purchased tickets eligible for a refund.

CHPE – 9) Hosts are solely responsible for ensuring their venue complies with local fire codes, accessibility laws, and capacity limits. LIR is not responsible for refunds if Fans are denied entry due to overselling, accessibility issues, or venue restrictions. Hosts must verify venue compliance prior to listing events.

CHPE – 10) Even if your Host Public Event is free (and Fans only pay for the Ticket Surcharge), all Host Public Events must have controlled entrances in which tickets bought through Live Industry Radio are scanned, or purchased through the LIR Host Door app.

CHPE – 11) Hosting a Public Event without controlled entrances may result in removal of your Host account and/or site ban. Fans are encouraged to video record and report Host Public Events that do not comply with these rules.

CHPE - 12) Hosts must maintain a physical Operations Book containing event-related safety policies, emergency plans, and procedures. Templates for the mandatory Operations Book will be emailed, and must be filled out completely and accessible at all times during your event. Failure to have an up-to-date LIR Operations Book available at your event may result in penalties, including but not limited to account suspension, fines, or event cancellation at LIR’s discretion. LIR may request to see your event's Operations Book during your event. This requirement does not impose any liability on LIR for event safety.

CHPE – 13) Your Host Public Event may also be subject to a visit by an Auditor, who will verify that your Host Public Event has controlled entrances and that cash is not accepted at the door of the event. Auditors are responsible for ensuring compliance with ticketing policies and may issue reports on suspected violations. LIR reserves the right to impose fines, suspend Hosts, or withhold ticket revenue transfers if non-compliance is found.

CHPE – 14) Hosts who fail to enforce "NO CASH" policies or who fail Auditor inspections may be subject to penalties, including: fines proportional to estimated lost revenue from untracked cash sales, temporary or permanent suspension of the Host account, and reimbursement requirement for estimated revenue loss to the Rights Receiver Payment System (RRSP) system.

Receiving Rights Receiver Payment System (RRPS) Payments

RRPS-1) Rights Receivers may receive payments through the Rights Receiver Payment System (RRPS) for Songs, Livestream Archives, Films, and other supported media for which they have been assigned an approved Rights Receiver allocation. RRPS payments are variable and depend upon media consumption occurring on the Live Industry Radio platform.

RRPS-2) As Live Industry Radio is a subscriptionless service, there may be months in which little or no money remains available for distribution after Platform Expenses have been deducted. The reasons for such circumstances will be documented in the Finance section where applicable. RRPS payments are not guaranteed and are limited to the funds available for RRPS distribution during a given month.

RRPS-3) Each month, Live Industry Radio determines the total distributable funds available by combining advertising revenue, ticket surcharge revenue, and any other revenue sources designated by Live Industry Radio for platform distribution, then subtracting Platform Expenses. Currently, 65% of the remaining distributable funds are allocated to the Rights Receiver Payment System (RRPS) and 35% are allocated to the Performer Bonus Program.

RRPS-4) The portion allocated to the RRPS is divided by the total number of eligible media seconds streamed on the platform during that month to determine the RRPS value per streamed second.

RRPS-5) Rights Receiver payments are calculated according to:

  • The number of eligible media seconds streamed during the month;
  • The Rights Receiver allocation percentages assigned to the media;
  • Any Rights Receiver Lists linked to participating Groups; and
  • The RRPS value per streamed second calculated for that month.

RRPS-6) Rights Receiver allocations may be assigned directly to individual Rights Receivers or indirectly through Rights Receiver Lists maintained by Bands, Live Performance Groups, Hosts, Film Production Groups, Service Groups, and other supported account types.

RRPS-7) Payments distributed through the Rights Receiver Payment System represent discretionary distributions of platform revenue generated through platform operations and do not constitute statutory royalties, copyright royalties, collective licensing royalties, performing rights royalties, neighbouring rights royalties, or payments administered on behalf of any third-party licensing organization.

RRPS-8) Only media whose rights permit participation in the Rights Receiver Payment System may be uploaded or distributed through the platform. Uploaders are responsible for ensuring they possess all rights, permissions, licenses, and authorities necessary to upload, distribute, monetize, and assign Rights Receiver allocations for their media.

RRPS-9) Media whose rights are subject to obligations that conflict with participation in the Rights Receiver Payment System may be ineligible for upload, distribution, monetization, or participation in the RRPS unless the necessary permissions permitting such use have been obtained.

RRPS-10) All calculations, accounting methods, stream counts, media consumption measurements, allocation calculations, Platform Expenses, distributable fund calculations, RRPS calculations, and payment determinations used by Live Industry Radio shall be determined by Live Industry Radio. These determinations are final and binding except in cases of demonstrable technical error.

RRPS-11) Rights Receivers are solely responsible for complying with all applicable tax laws, reporting requirements, and legal obligations relating to payments received through the Rights Receiver Payment System. Rights Receivers are independent participants and are not employees, agents, partners, or representatives of Live Industry Radio.

RRPS-12) Songs whose public performance rights are administered by a Performing Rights Organization (PRO) or other third-party licensing body are not eligible to participate in the Rights Receiver Payment System and may not be uploaded, distributed, monetized, or otherwise made available through the platform.

RRPS-13) Films, Livestream Archives, and other supported media containing Songs that are not eligible for participation in the Rights Receiver Payment System are likewise not eligible for upload, distribution, monetization, or participation in the RRPS.

Rights Receiver Proposals, Allocations, and Redistribution (RRA)

RRA - 1) A "Rights Receiver Proposal" is the mechanism by which an uploader or a rights-holding account allocates a percentage of a media's Rights Receiver Payment System (RRPS) participation to one or more Rights Receivers (individual Rights Receivers or Groups). Sending a Rights Receiver Proposal is a legally binding act.

RRA - 2) By sending a Rights Receiver Proposal, the sender represents and warrants, under these Terms of Use, that the media and the rights being allocated are lawfully theirs to allocate, that they hold the rights and authority necessary to distribute the percentages set out in the proposal to the parties named, and that those parties are entitled to be paid for that media's streams on Live Industry Radio in the proportions specified. The sender's electronic act of sending constitutes a legally binding acknowledgment of these representations, with the same effect as a handwritten signature (see I - 2A).

RRA - 3) By accepting a share in a Rights Receiver Proposal, each recipient makes their own legally binding acknowledgment, under these Terms of Use, that they are entitled to receive the accepted percentage of payments for that media's streams on Live Industry Radio, and that the media and their share of it are lawfully theirs to receive. Denying a share formally rejects the allocation.

RRA - 4) Rights Receiver allocations may be assigned directly to individual Rights Receivers, or indirectly through Rights Receiver Lists maintained by Groups (including Bands, Hosts, Service Groups, Manufacturers/Retailers, and Film Production Groups). A Group that has been allocated a percentage may redistribute that percentage among its own Rights Receivers by initiating a further Rights Receiver Proposal from its Rights Receiver List. This redistribution may occur across multiple levels, and the same binding representations, warranties, and acknowledgments set out in RRA - 2 and RRA - 3 apply to every sender and every recipient at every level, in respect of that sender's or recipient's own allocated share.

RRA - 5) Until a Rights Receiver allocation is fully assigned and every named Rights Receiver has accepted their share, any funds attributable to the unallocated or unaccepted portion are held in escrow and are not released. Live Industry Radio may withhold, delay, or reverse any distribution attributable to an allocation that is incomplete, unaccepted, disputed, or under review.

RRA - 6) Knowingly sending a Rights Receiver Proposal, accepting a share, or allocating or redistributing rights that you do not lawfully hold, or in proportions you are not entitled to allocate, is a violation of these Terms of Use and may result in removal of the media, reversal or withholding of payments, suspension or termination of accounts, and liability to the affected parties and to Live Industry Radio.

RRA - 7) Live Industry Radio maintains a complete audit history of Rights Receiver Proposals, Rights Receiver Lists, allocations, redistributions, allocation changes, and acceptance and denial actions, together with user identity verification, to support the administration of the platform and the resolution of future disputes. Live Industry Radio relies in good faith on the representations made by senders and recipients and does not independently determine legal ownership of rights.

Notice of Rights Discrepancy (NRD)

NRD - 1) When new media is uploaded that matches the audio fingerprint of previously uploaded, active media, Live Industry Radio compares the Rights Receiver allocations. Where a difference is detected — including a changed percentage, an exclusion (represented as a 0% allocation), or a difference in the length or timing of a Performance Window — the affected Rights Receivers and accounts are notified with a Notice of Rights Discrepancy (NRD).

NRD - 2) Each recipient of an NRD is shown only: their own previous percentage(s) across all active fingerprint-matching media; their own new percentage (or that they have been excluded); the media involved; the applicable Performance Windows, including their start second, end second, and calculated length; and the account responsible for the new allocation affecting them. Live Industry Radio does not disclose other Rights Receivers, other parties' percentage allocations, the percentage allocated to any parent or intermediary account, or the complete rights tree.

NRD - 3) A Rights Receiver who believes a new allocation is incorrect may submit a dispute together with supporting documentation, which may include written contracts, signed amendments, assignment agreements, or other documentation supporting their claim.

NRD - 4) Live Industry Radio's tribunal does not attempt to determine the ultimate legal ownership of rights. It determines only whether sufficient evidence has been provided to administer the platform in accordance with its published policies. The possible outcomes are: (a) Clear Agreement — where all affected parties agree, or sufficient undisputed documentation is provided, Live Industry Radio may update the allocations; (b) Insufficient Evidence — where ownership or percentages remain genuinely disputed and Live Industry Radio cannot confidently determine the correct allocation, no changes are made; and (c) Binding Legal Determination — where the dispute cannot be resolved internally, the parties are instructed to obtain a legally binding determination (such as a court order or other legally binding decision recognized by Live Industry Radio), and Live Industry Radio will update the allocations accordingly.

NRD - 5) Live Industry Radio acts as a neutral administrator of Rights Receiver allocations. It does not adjudicate ownership disputes and does not attempt to determine legal entitlement where the evidence is contested.

NRD - 6) Users are solely responsible for maintaining written agreements governing ownership and percentage allocations. Live Industry Radio strongly recommends that all changes to rights ownership or allocation be documented in writing before they are submitted. Live Industry Radio maintains a complete audit history of Rights Receiver Proposals, Rights Receiver Lists, allocation changes, and user identity verification to assist with dispute resolution.

NRD - 7) Notices of Rights Discrepancy and related disputes are administered through [email protected]. This process applies to all supported media types, including Songs, Films, and Livestream Archives.

Receiving Band Bonus money if you have joined a Band account as a Musician (RBBM)

RBBM – 1) Band Bonus money cannot be withdrawn, but must be spent internally with the use of a code that is received after allocating money to a specific business that the Band would like to spend their Band Bonus money on. Refer to the LIR Documentation for more detail.

RBBM – 2) As with the RRPS system, Band Bonus money is not guaranteed.

RBBM – 3) The Band Bonus amount is based on 35% of the amount of Ticket Surcharge and advertising money made within a month, after Site Expenses, divided equally between all Musicians who are members of a Band account. Please refer to the Finance section for more detail.

RBBM – 4) LIR is not responsible for disputes over Band Bonus money between Band members.

Taxes (T)

T – 1) Musicians and businesses using this platform must report their income and do their taxes as required by applicable laws.

Ticket Refund Policy (TRP)

TRP – 1) Avoid Corporate Ticket Scams: The number of available tickets and their prices on all events are locked in after the first Band is booked for an event, which is when tickets for that event become available to be sold on the platform, unless a ticket release date is set for some time in the future. Even if a ticket release date is set by the Host, if there are no Bands booked to play the gig, no tickets can be sold.

TRP – 2) Ticket types: An event may offer one or more ticket types, such as General Admission, reserved seating, or other admission categories. Each ticket type may have its own price and number of available tickets. For General Admission events without dedicated seating, ticket availability should be based on the venue’s maximum permitted capacity. For events with reserved seating or multiple admission categories, the number of tickets available for each ticket type should reflect the applicable seating arrangements, capacity limits, and other venue restrictions.

TRP – 3) Ticket sales for both types of events are final. However, if a Band is dropped by the Host (removed from the event's Band Roster and is no longer playing at the event), or if a Band cancels from the event, then all tickets bought after the Band originally joined the event are made available for refund. Tickets bought before the band originally joined the event will not be made available for refund and will still be final sale. New tickets bought after a Band cancels from an event will be final sale per usual, unless another Band is dropped or cancels that joined the event previously, or some other event change occurs that renders tickets available for refund. Live Industry Radio reserves the right to postpone the ticket money transfer to Host (which normally happens on the 7th day after the event) and/or take other measures for the benefit of Fans if a Band doesn't play the event, but remains on the Band Roster up until the event (perhaps to avoid having tickets made available for refund), as per our Terms of Use. If a Host changes the Public Event date, or the location of the event, or postpones the event (temporarily removes the event date), then all previously bought tickets are made available for refund. Tickets bought after the event change will be final sale per usual (not be available for refund), unless another similar change occures. Tickets available for refund can be refunded at any time prior to the event, and for six days after the event (if not scanned at the event to access the event), up until the ticket sales money is transferred to the Host on the seventh day after the event. Tickets that are available for refund can still be used to access the event normally (you can still use tickets to go to the event even though they are available for refund). If the event is cancelled, then all tickets are refunded automatically. Updates via email will be sent to all ticket buyers after any changes to an event are made that renders tickets available for refund, such as a band cancel, location change or date change. An email will also be sent to ticket buyers when new Bands are added to the event (which does not make any tickets refundable).

TRP – 3a) If a Band wishes to cancel after being booked, the cancellation must be approved by the Host. If a Band does not show up and does not notify the Host, LIR is not responsible for any disputes. However, if a Band does not perform as scheduled, all ticket sales made after the Band joined the event will automatically be eligible for a refund.

TRP – 4) Transaction Fee: We apply a transaction fee to all ticket sales to cover the cost of the transaction with the 3rd party payment platform, so our Musicians can make more per song stream. This money is not included in any refunds. Also an additional transaction fee may be applied to the refund, which will be subtracted from the amount being refunded.

TRP – 5) Ticket Surcharge: The Ticket Surcharge is included in a ticket sales refund, as well as the tax. The Ticket Surcharge is applied to all ticket sales, and is how we pay Musicians for their song streams each month so that you can listen to all of their tunes for free, unlimited and uninterrupted. We also use this money to run and upgrade the site, as documented in the Site Expenses listed in the Finance section.

TRP – 6) If a Band listed on an event does not perform as scheduled, all ticket sales made after that Band joined the event will be eligible for a refund. LIR reserves the right to withhold ticket revenue from the Host until refunds are processed. By using LIR’s ticketing system, Hosts agree to this policy and waive the right to pursue legal action against LIR for refunds issued due to a Band’s failure to perform.

TRP – 7) If LIR suspects an event cancellation or Band no-show was staged or fraudulent to exploit refund policies, LIR reserves the right to investigate. LIR may suspend ticket refunds until the investigation is complete. Hosts and Bands found to be engaging in fraudulent behavior will be permanently banned.

Meal Ordering Terms (MOT)

MOT – 1) Meal ordering may be offered independently or alongside another purchase, including a ticket to a livestream event. A Fan is not required to purchase livestream access in order to place a meal order unless expressly stated for a particular offering.

MOT – 2) When a meal order and an event ticket are purchased as part of the same transaction, they remain independent components and are processed, fulfilled, cancelled, and refunded separately. The failure, cancellation, refund, or modification of one component does not automatically affect the other component.

MOT – 3) Meal orders are subject to a preparation initiation time ("fire time"), which represents the time at which the restaurant begins preparing the order. The fire time is calculated based on preparation requirements, the requested fulfillment time, and applicable delivery conditions.

MOT – 4) Meal orders may be cancelled or refunded only before the fire time. Once the fire time has been reached and preparation has begun, the meal order becomes final sale and is no longer eligible for a refund.

MOT – 5) Restaurants offering meals through Live Industry Radio operate as independent third-party vendors. Live Industry Radio does not prepare, handle, inspect, or control food or its preparation, quality, safety, timing, delivery, or other fulfillment. Responsibility for preparing and fulfilling a meal order rests solely with the participating restaurant.

MOT – 6) If a restaurant is unable to fulfill a meal order before the fire time due to closure, capacity limitations, or operational failure, the meal order will be cancelled and refunded.

MOT – 7) Preparation, pickup, and delivery times are estimates based on preparation requirements, distance, restaurant operations, and other applicable conditions. Live Industry Radio does not guarantee fulfillment times and is not responsible for delays or failures caused by the restaurant, delivery conditions, or other external factors.

MOT – 8) Meal payments are processed through Stripe and allocated to the participating restaurant. Live Industry Radio does not deduct additional platform fees from restaurant payouts beyond applicable payment-processing costs.

MOT – 9) Restaurant payouts are automatically transferred through Stripe on the day following the order at approximately 12:00 PM (noon), provided the order has not been cancelled in accordance with these terms.

MOT – 10) Live Industry Radio acts solely as a platform facilitating transactions and communication between Fans and participating restaurants. Live Industry Radio is not a party to the preparation or fulfillment of meal orders and assumes no responsibility or liability for restaurant performance, food quality, food safety, order accuracy, or fulfillment outcomes.

MOT – 11) Any dispute concerning meal quality, safety, accuracy, or fulfillment after the fire time must be resolved directly between the Fan and the participating restaurant.

Livestream Access Terms (LAT)

LAT – 1) Livestream access may be offered by any eligible Host account and is not limited to a particular Host account type. Livestream access tickets are governed by the standard Ticket Refund Policy (TRP).

LAT – 2) Livestream access tickets are final sale unless the event undergoes a qualifying change as defined in the TRP, including but not limited to event cancellation, postponement, a location change, or the removal of a Band that was scheduled before the ticket was purchased.

LAT – 3) If the purchaser of a livestream access ticket experiences a verified technical issue that materially prevents reasonable access to the livestream event, Live Industry Radio may, at its sole discretion, honor the ticket for access to another livestream event of equal or lesser value offered through the platform.

LAT – 4) To diagnose and investigate technical issues, prevent abuse of the livestream system, and improve the platform’s compatibility and reliability, Live Industry Radio may collect and analyze limited technical information associated with livestream access attempts. This information may include device type, browser information, operating-system information, IP address, connection status, playback errors, stream-request logs, and related technical diagnostics.

LAT – 5) By requesting technical support or replacement livestream access, or by participating in a livestream troubleshooting process, users consent to the collection and analysis of such technical information for operational, security, fraud-prevention, compatibility-testing, and diagnostic purposes.

LAT – 6) Live Industry Radio does not guarantee uninterrupted livestream performance or compatibility with every device, browser, operating system, network environment, VPN configuration, extension, firewall, or third-party software configuration. Users are responsible for maintaining a compatible internet connection and supported viewing environment.

LAT – 7) Live Industry Radio reserves the right to deny replacement livestream access where a technical issue is determined, in Live Industry Radio’s sole discretion, to have resulted primarily from an unsupported configuration, a prohibited network-masking tool, account sharing, abuse of the platform, fraudulent activity, or another factor outside the platform’s reasonable operational control.

Jurisdiction (J)

J - 1) In the event of any inconsistency between translated versions of these Terms of Use, the English version shall control.

J - 2) These Terms of Use shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein.

J - 3) Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms of Use or the use of the Live Industry Radio platform shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in the Province of Ontario, Canada.

J - 4) To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, any dispute arising out of or relating to the use of the Live Industry Radio platform or these Terms of Use shall be brought by the user in their individual capacity and not as part of any class, collective, or representative action. Nothing in this provision limits any rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

Ticket Policies

Ticket Refund Policies: Ticket sales for both types of events are final, but if a Critical Change happens to an event, some tickets may become available for refund. These rules affect both event types:

1) If a band is dropped by the Host or cancels, all tickets purchased after that band originally joined the event become refundable. Tickets purchased before the band joined remain final sale. New tickets purchased after the cancellation are also final sale unless another qualifying change occurs. Live Industry Radio reserves the right to postpone the ticket money transfer to Hosts (which normally happens on the 7th day after the event) and apply other protective measures for the benefit of Fans, as per our Terms of Use.

2) If a Host changes the Public Event date, or the location of the event, or postpones the event (temporarily removes the event date), then all previously bought tickets are made available for refund. Tickets bought after the event change will be final sale per usual (not be available for refund), unless another similar change occurs.

Host Policies

A free 'Host' account is available for anybody who runs a live-music venue or does live-music event planning etc. Once acquired, a Host account can create Public Events, which are live-music events, and can sell tickets to them.

To protect Fans from scalpers and corporate ticket scams, the following policies are currently in place regarding Host Public Events and their tickets:

When a Public Event is created by a Host, after the first Live Industry Radio Band joins the 'Band Roster' (i.e., after a Band is accepted by the Host to play the event), the ticket prices and number of available tickets for the event can no longer be changed. If you see Host Public Event tickets on sale on Live Industry Radio, there is at least one Live Industry Radio band booked to play the gig, and the ticket prices and the number of tickets available are final (cannot ever be changed). Hosts need at least one Band on a Public Event's Band Roster before the Public Event can start selling tickets on this platform. If all bands are removed from an event by the Host or cancels from the event, the Host Public Event can no longer sell tickets.

All Host Public Events hosted through Live Industry Radio must strictly be No Cash events. Cash cannot be accepted at the door for people without tickets. People without tickets must buy their tickets either through their Live Industry Radio account prior to the event, or through the LIR Host Door app (ticket scanning mobile app) when at the door of the event. This is because Ticket Surcharge money from every ticket sold funds payments to Musicians for their song streams. This allows Fans like yourself to listen to all of their tunes for free on this site, unlimited and uninterrupted. Ticket Surcharge money can only be entered into our system to pay our Musicians for their song streams if all tickets are paid for with a card, either through our site or through our ticket scanning app at the door of the event. Hosts who violate this rule are abusing our system at the expense of our Musicians, and warnings and penalties may apply as per our Terms of Use. Please take a picture and report Hosts accepting cash at the door of their Host Public Event. You can report Hosts through the Host's public account page. We may also frequent Host Public Events to check setups, either officially or incognito.

All Host Public Events must have controlled entrances in which tickets are scanned for entry. Allowing people to enter into a Host Public Event without a ticket is a violation of our Terms of Use, and warnings and penalties may apply. Even if the event is free, if the event is hosted through Live Industry Radio people must still pay the Ticket Surcharge amount (and the transaction fee and taxes) to get into the event.

Fans can only purchase tickets once per event, with a maximum of 15 tickets per purchase, and credit cards can only be used once per event. While possibly inconvenient, this is how we discourage scalping. Fans may receive a token of appreciation at major "Live Industry Radio Network" festivals and events (this is Live Industry Radio's Host account) for matching their ticket(s) with an ID at the entrance. This would also be valid for everyone arriving in a group, and the person who bought the group's tickets is in the group, with an ID with the same name as that on the tickets.

Host & Fan Ticket Restrictions

Anyone can create a free Host account and sell tickets to their live music public events. We apply a ticket surcharge to every ticket sold, which is used to pay musicians for song streams through our custom royalty system, help them purchase equipment and resources, and maintain the site. However, the following general rules must be followed. For more detailed information, please refer to our Terms of Use.

As per our Terms of Use, Live Industry Radio is not liable for any damage or injury that may occur at Host Public Events.

That said, Live Industry Radio enforces safety standards through the procedural and technical requirements embedded within the platform, requiring Hosts to comply with defined safety criteria throughout the planning and operation of their Host Public Events.

THE FOLLOWING ARE KEY STIPULATIONS GOVERNING THE OPERATION OF A HOST ACCOUNT AND HOST PUBLIC EVENTS THROUGH LIVE INDUSTRY RADIO:

You must not involve alcohol at your events without the proper license or without fully understanding the laws governing alcohol consumption at public or private events. You may be held criminally responsible if alcohol is served illegally or negligently and someone is harmed.

Ticket sale proceeds are transferred to your connected Stripe account seven (7) days after the day of your event.

All ticket sales are final unless there is a change to the Band lineup for Bands that were scheduled to perform prior to the ticket purchase, in which case the Fan has the option to refund for their ticket(s). Fans are also eligible to refund their tickets if the event is postponed, relocated, or rescheduled.

All tickets must be scanned at your event door using the LIR Scanner app.

Cash entry is strictly prohibited. Tickets for Live Industry Radio events must be purchased through the platform in advance. The LIR Scanner app is used only to scan valid tickets at the door to grant entry. Any event allowing cash or unverified entry may be subject to enforcement action, including account suspension or bans if violations are confirmed.

All attendees — including for free events — must obtain a valid platform-issued ticket before entry. This ensures proper collection of the ticket surcharge, which directly supports musician compensation through the Pay Per Play system and related platform programs. Allowing entry without a valid ticket is considered misuse of the platform and may result in penalties.

At least one Band must be confirmed on your event roster before tickets may be sold or the event becomes discoverable on the Map or other platform listings.

Fans may purchase a maximum of fifteen (15) tickets per transaction. Each Fan is limited to one transaction per event, and each credit card may be used only once per event. These limits are designed to discourage scalping.

Once the first Band is confirmed for an event, ticket prices and the total number of available tickets are permanently locked and cannot be changed. This policy is in place to prevent unfair pricing practices, artificial hype tactics, and other forms of manipulation. Please ensure all ticket details are correct before confirming any performers.

Why Live Industry Radio is Offering Its Platform to Restaurants (Beta)

Live Industry Radio is a free-to-use music streaming and ticketing platform designed to create new income opportunities for musicians—and, over time, artists across all disciplines, including film, comedy, literature, theatre, and visual arts.

We have identified a key economic pressure affecting both restaurants and the Live Industry Radio platform: the impact of third-party delivery fees within the current market. These fees can reduce margins and contribute to higher menu prices. As prices rise, customers may order less frequently or become more selective, impacting both restaurant revenue and participation in live events.

To address this, we are introducing a new feature within the Live Industry Radio platform that allows restaurants to offer meals for pickup or delivery directly through the platform. These meals can be ordered alongside live-stream tickets or during events such as performances, film showings, and other media experiences.

Unlike traditional delivery platforms, Live Industry Radio does not charge any fees for this service. You may continue using third-party delivery apps as usual, while also using our platform as an additional, no-cost sales channel.

Live Industry Radio is developing L.I.D. (Live Industry Distribution) — a merchandise, freight, and meal distribution network. Within L.I.D., meal delivery will operate using a shared, at-cost driver model, where driver expenses are distributed among participating restaurants within a local area based on distance and a base fee, with partial contribution from the customer. This approach is designed to reduce delivery costs, improve restaurant profit margins, and make meals more affordable for customers, ultimately encouraging greater attendance at live shows and events.

Beta Launch: Dinner Show Livestream

This functionality is currently in beta and will be tested through the Live Industry Radio Network Dinner Show livestream.

The Live Industry Radio Network is the platform’s primary host account and serves as the front-facing branch for live events. The Dinner Show will be a talk-show-style livestream hosted by site creator Dave Thomson, featuring a wide range of artistic performances, including music, comedy, stand-up, independent film, theatre, dance, and more.

Initial marketing and talent sourcing will focus on the University of Toronto area, particularly Kensington Market and surrounding neighborhoods. For this reason, we are reaching out to local restaurants to participate in the beta.

Students and local viewers engaging with the livestream are strong candidates for targeted offers such as student discounts and pickup specials. This creates an opportunity to promote your restaurant, reach a new customer base, and generate additional orders—without incurring platform fees.

Restaurant App - Default Screen (Kitchen / Overview Tab)

Restaurant app overview screen showing kitchen dashboard

The Restaurant App opens to this default Overview page within the Kitchen tab, showing a real-time summary of daily operations. It displays:

  • Total sales for today (including meal and delivery breakdowns)
  • Locked totals (orders that can no longer be modified)
  • Pending orders
  • Order distribution by timeframes (Lunch: 11–3, Dinner: 3–7, Peak Hours)

Use Refresh to update the data, or By Urgency to sort pending orders based on priority. This page acts as a quick snapshot of current activity, allowing you to monitor performance and identify incoming workload at a glance.

Access Note: Manager-assigned kitchen staff can access all top tabs. Non-manager kitchen staff are limited to the Kitchen section only, including its sub-tabs (Overview, Meal Orders, and individual Station tabs).

Settings

Settings - Form Section 1

Restaurant information form in settings tab

This screen is the Restaurant Information form in the Settings tab. Confirm the restaurant’s public name (what fans will see), and the delivery phone number (for customer contact). The address, city, and postal code provided will be the starting point for delivery calculations, so it is crucial to ensure the restaurant address is accurate.

Settings - Form Section 2

Logo upload and delivery pickup settings

Further down in the Settings tab, upload your restaurant logo and configure delivery and pickup options. If Pickup or Delivery is not enabled, customers will not see those options during meal purchase.

Set the delivery radius (in kilometers) to define your service area. Third-party platforms may adjust this automatically, so choose a range you can reliably serve. Live Industry Radio plans to introduce a custom driver-share delivery network to help reduce costs, improve restaurant margins, and support increased participation in dining and live events.

Settings - Form Section 3

Delivery pricing configuration settings

This section of the Settings tab controls delivery pricing.

  • Minutes Per KM: Sets the average delivery time per kilometer, allowing the system to calculate when the kitchen should begin meal preparation based on delivery scheduling.
  • Base Delivery Fee: A flat charge used to cover baseline delivery costs, including third-party fees if applicable.
  • Delivery Fee Per KM: Adds a scalable cost based on distance.
  • External Delivery Fee Name: A customizable label for identifying third-party delivery services.
  • External Delivery Fee: An optional flat fee associated with that service.

Together, these fields allow you to fully account for delivery costs and prepare for a future shared driver system designed to reduce costs and improve margins.

Settings - Form Section 4

Order timing and menu display settings
  • Last Order Buffer: Defines how many minutes before closing the restaurant stops accepting new orders.
  • Minimum Order Lead Time: Sets a global minimum preparation time. If automatic calculations are shorter, this value is used; if longer, the automatic time is used instead.
  • Menu Display: Allows specials to be listed in a separate section above regular menu items.
  • Restaurant Contact: Internal contact name and email for Live Industry Radio administrative use only (not publicly visible).

Settings - Form Section 5

Operational settings including timezone and availability
  • Contact Phone: Direct number for operational use.
  • Time Zone: Ensures accurate scheduling and reporting.
  • Payout Email Settings: Enables daily payout summaries (weekly summaries are mandatory).

Staff assignment and access control settings

This section allows you to manage restaurant staff assignments. Assign a user by selecting their name from the Fan dropdown and grant Restaurant Manager Access if needed.

  • Managers: Full access to create meals, view financial data, and modify settings.
  • Non-manager staff: Access limited to the Kitchen section (orders and stations only).

This structure ensures kitchen staff can operate efficiently (often via tablets at stations) without access to sensitive configuration settings.

Choice Groups

Choice Groups overview screen showing group creation and configuration

Choice Groups allow restaurants to attach customizable option sets to menu items so customers can make selections during checkout, such as toppings, cooking instructions, drink choices, sides, extras, or special preferences. Multiple Choice Groups can be assigned to a single meal item, creating a flexible and structured ordering flow.

  • One Choice Only: Customer selects a single option (e.g., steak doneness).
  • Multiple Choices: Customer selects multiple different options (e.g., toppings).
  • Multiple Quantities Per Choice: Customer selects repeated quantities (e.g., extra cheese ×2).
  • Min / Max: Defines how many selections are allowed.
  • Req: Requires at least one selection before checkout.
  • Force Min: Requires the exact minimum number of selections before continuing.

These controls ensure accurate order customization while maintaining a clear and efficient ordering process.

Choice Groups - Columns

Create and manage Choice Groups using the three-column layout. Enter a name in the left column and click Add Group to begin. Use Choice Groups for any required or optional customer selection during ordering.

  • Left Column: Create and select Choice Groups.
  • Middle Column: Add and manage selectable items (e.g., Pepperoni, Onion, Extra Cheese).
  • Right Column: Configure the selected Choice Group.
  • Active: Controls whether the group appears during checkout.
  • Name: The label shown to customers.
  • Description: Optional instructions (e.g., “Choose up to 2 toppings”).
  • Base Price: Price applied per selected option ($0.00 for included items or a set value for add-ons).

These settings define how customers interact with each group and ensure selections are captured correctly.

Choice Groups - Columns 2

Choice Group settings showing split pizza option and item availability controls

Additional settings allow for advanced configuration of Choice Groups, including split selections and item availability control.

  • Enable Split Pizza / Half & Half: Allows customers to apply different selections to each half of an item. Half selections are automatically charged at half price when pricing is applied.
  • Active (Item): Removes the item from the Choice Group when disabled.
  • Out of Stock: Keeps the item visible but greyed out with a line through it to indicate temporary unavailability.

Use these options to support flexible ordering scenarios while clearly communicating availability to customers.

Meal Builder

Meal Builder overview showing stations, items, and meal configuration panels

The Meal Builder is where restaurants create and manage kitchen stations, meal items, and purchasable meals for live-streamed events. It organizes the full preparation workflow so items are routed to the correct station at the correct time.

  • Kitchen Stations: Define preparation areas (e.g., Grill, Prep, Drinks). Each station can operate on its own tablet, where items automatically appear based on prep timing.
  • Meal Items: Create and manage individual items assigned to stations. Items progress through statuses such as Ready to Fire, Cooking, and Complete.
  • Meal Creation: Build complete meals for sale by combining items, descriptions, and pricing.

This system ensures that kitchen staff receive the correct items at the correct time, supporting an efficient and coordinated workflow.

  • One Choice Only: Customer selects one option (e.g., steak doneness).
  • Multiple Choices (Single Quantity): Customer selects multiple different options, one of each.
  • Multiple Choices (Multiple Quantities): Customer selects multiple options with repeat quantities (e.g., extra cheese ×2).
  • Min / Max: Defines the allowed selection range.
  • Req: Requires at least one selection before continuing.
  • Force Min: Requires the exact minimum number of selections before checkout.

Use these settings to enforce required selections or allow flexible customization, depending on the item.

MEAL BUILDER - Click Meal Item To Add To A New Meal

Selecting a meal item from the middle panel in the Meal Builder
Meal item added to the Meal Builder panel and arranged within the meal

Click a meal item from the middle panel to add it to the far-right Meal Builder panel as a meal component. Continue selecting items as needed, then click and drag components to arrange their display order within the meal. Enter the Meal Name and Meal Info, which customers will see when viewing your menu during the ordering process. The Meal Description is created automatically and lists the meal components in a sentence, separated by commas and grouped together when identical items are adjacent (for example, “Fries x3”).

An example of a meal based on this screenshot might be: “2 Can Dine Steak Combo” Description (automatically generated): “Steak x2, Med Fries x2, Drink x2”

If a “Drink Options” Choice Group has been applied to the “Drink” meal item, customers will be able to select from the available options during checkout (for example, “Coke”, “Milk”, “Local Featured Brewery of the Week”, etc.).

The system also displays the Estimated Prep Time, which is automatically calculated based on the longest prep time of the included items.

Use Meal Info to add any additional customer-facing notes.

Enable Pickup / Walk-In Only if the meal should not be available for delivery.

MEAL BUILDER - Apply Additional Settings To A New Meal

Additional meal settings in the Meal Builder right panel

Scroll down the right-side panel to continue configuring the meal. View the included choice groups, enter customer-facing Meal Info, enable Pickup / Walk-In Only to disable delivery (e.g., “Walk-In Student Special”), and enable Show As Special to highlight the item on the menu as a Special or custom deal/combo. Event Based Specials options are available for future use (feature pending).

Enter the Meal Base Price to set the base cost of the meal before any priced choice group selections (e.g., “Premium Toppings”, “Upsize Fries/Drinks”). Any choice group selections with a configured price will be added to the meal subtotal during checkout, on top of the base price.

MEAL BUILDER - MAXIMUM Meal Cost Estimate

Maximum meal cost estimate and pricing summary panel

Meal Builder – Right Panel (Pricing Summary): This section displays the maximum estimated final price a fan may pay when ordering this meal during a live show. The estimate is based on your maximum delivery range and per-kilometer delivery rate set in the Restaurant Settings tab (in this example: 7 km at $1.20/km).

The total shown includes the meal price, the Live Industry Radio ticket surcharge (applied to every order), maximum estimated delivery charges, transaction fees, and tax. Pickup pricing is displayed separately.

Use this panel to understand how your pricing and delivery settings impact the customer’s total cost. To adjust delivery fees, distance, or related settings, update the values in the Settings tab.

Important: Live Industry Radio does not charge restaurants any platform fees for offering meals through the system. All meal and delivery payments are automatically transferred to your connected Stripe account the following day (see the Finance tab for details).

In the future, Live Industry Radio will introduce L.I.D. (Live Industry Distribution) — a merchandise, freight, and meal distribution network. Within L.I.D., meal delivery will operate using a shared, at-cost driver model, where driver expenses are distributed among participating restaurants within a local area. This approach is designed to reduce delivery costs, improve restaurant profit margins, and make meals more affordable for customers, ultimately encouraging greater attendance at live shows and events.

MEAL BUILDER - Complete New Meal Additional Settings

Final meal setup options including image upload and active toggle

Complete the Meal Order setup by uploading a custom image that users can expand to view, and by selecting whether the Meal Order is set to “Active.”

When “Active” is enabled, the Meal Order will appear in your restaurant’s menu and be available for purchase. Disable “Active” if you are preparing the meal for a future update and do not want it visible to customers yet.

To update any aspect of a Meal Order after it has been created, click the “View Meals” button in the top-right of this panel. This will display a list of all Meal Orders, with active items shown first.

Within the list of Meal Orders, select “Edit” on any Meal Order to modify its settings, including updating the price, adjusting included items, or reordering items within the meal description.

MEAL BUILDER - Meal List

By clicking the View Meals button in the top-right corner of the Meal Builder panel, you can view a complete list of all current meals, where each meal can be edited or deleted as needed.

The Meal List displays completed meals built from the meal items. Each meal shows price, Meal ID, active/inactive status, number of items included, and a short description. Meals can be edited or deleted from this screen by clicking on the applicable button beside each Meal Order in the list.

MEAL BUILDER - Meal Edit Form

Editing a meal from the meal list in the Meal Builder

When you click the Edit button beside a meal in the View Meals list, you can re-enter the Meal Order form to rearrange items to reorganize the meal description, add or remove items, and modify all settings of the meal, including its name, prep time, choice groups, active status, and other available options.

Once you have completed any edits, click on ‘Update Meal’ to apply your changes.

KITCHEN

KITCHEN - Overview Tab

Kitchen Overview Tab showing financial totals and incoming orders

The default screen when entering the Kitchen section is the Overview page. It provides a quick summary of the day’s basic financial totals, incoming orders, and upcoming demand.

Meals become locked automatically when they are scheduled to begin preparation based on estimated prep time, delivery timing, or the minimum lead time set in Restaurant Settings. Once locked, fans can no longer refund the meal from their side, though restaurant staff may still issue refunds if needed.

The Kitchen section is accessible to all restaurant employees so staff can log in and operate station tablets as required. All other restaurant app sections are restricted to employees marked as “Manager”, specifically the Meal Builder, Choice Groups, Finance, and Settings tabs.

KITCHEN - Overview Tab (Extended Meal Order)

Expanded meal order view from Kitchen Overview tab

Clicking View on an order in the Overview section opens a brief summary of that order, including key times, costs, delivery details, and the meals included.

KITCHEN - Meal Orders Tab

Kitchen Meal Orders tab showing active orders and controls

Meal Orders is the central hub of the Kitchen section. From this Kitchen sub tab, staff can view all incoming meal orders, refund individual meals or full orders, and update meal item status to Cooking or Complete. Status changes made here also update the corresponding items on each station screen, just as if they were progressed directly by station staff.

Only pending and in-progress orders are shown. Each Meal Order displays the fulfillment type (Pickup or Delivery), scheduled times, lock status (no longer refundable by the fan once preparation has begun), included meals, and the total meal and delivery cost.

Kitchen staff can refund the entire Meal Order by selecting ‘Refund Group’, or refund individual meals by clicking ‘Open’ to expand the order and process refunds per meal.

KITCHEN - Meal Orders Tab (Expanded Meal Order)

Expanded meal order view showing all meals in an order

Clicking Open expands the selected order to display all meals included in that order. From this view, staff can refund individual meals, or click on a meal to expand it further and view its items so they can be progressed through the appropriate kitchen preparation stages.

KITCHEN - Meal Orders Tab (Expanded Meal)

Expanded meal showing individual items and status progression

Expanding a meal within an order on the Meal Orders screen displays all items included in that meal. From this screen, items can be progressed through each status stage: Pending, Ready to Fire, Cooking, and Ready.

When an item reaches its scheduled prep time based on the pickup or delivery time, it automatically appears on the appropriate station screen as Ready to Fire. Kitchen staff at that station can then update the item to Cooking when preparation begins, and mark it Ready when complete. Once all items in an order are completed, the full order is automatically marked complete.

These same status updates can also be managed directly from the central Meal Orders tab, which updates in real time whenever any station progresses an item. This allows the screen to function as a central command overview while also providing manual control of item progression outside the station screens when needed.

KITCHEN - All Stations Tab

All Stations tab showing all active items across stations

The All Stations tab displays all currently active items from every station in one centralized view. This is useful for kitchens that do not operate with fixed stations, or during busy periods when individual station staff are unable to keep up with their own queues. A central operator can manage item statuses, coordinate preparation, and oversee workflow from a single location.

KITCHEN - Individual Stations Tab

Individual station tab showing items assigned to a specific station

Individual station tabs display items from incoming orders that are assigned to that specific station. This is especially useful when each kitchen station has its own tablet with the station tab open, allowing staff to view incoming items and update their status as they are prepared and completed.

Like the ‘All Stations’ tab, kitchen staff can update the status of individual items directly from the tablet at their station. Items automatically appear in a station tab when they are scheduled to “fire” — meaning when preparation should begin — based on the item’s prep time, the restaurant’s set minimum lead time, the scheduled pickup or delivery time, and any other applicable delivery variables.

The left ‘Ready to Fire’ panel shows items that are scheduled to begin preparation. When staff starts preparing an item, they can click ‘Start Cooking’, which moves the item to the right panel labeled ‘Cooking’. This action updates all other Kitchen tabs in real time.

Once the item is finished, staff can click ‘Mark Complete’ in the Cooking panel. This removes the item from the station screen and updates all other Kitchen tabs accordingly.

When all items within a meal are completed, the meal is automatically marked as Ready. When all meals within an order are ready, the entire order is marked as Ready. After the order has been picked up or sent out for delivery, the ‘Mark Delivered / Picked Up’ button can be used in the Meal Orders tab to mark the order as Completed, which moves it to the bottom of the Meal Orders list.

DINNER SHOW LIVESTREAM ACCESS TICKET PURCHASE FLOW

TICKET PURCHASE - Event Selection

Event selection screen on Live Industry Radio map

From the Live Industry Radio Map, fans can browse and select events hosted on the LIR platform and purchase tickets directly. The Live Industry Radio Network (LIRN) “Dinner Show” is a planned weekday livestream event to be broadcast from the LIRN Brampton studio. It will initially feature Ontario-based talent across a wide range of art styles and genres, presented in a talk-show-style format hosted by site creator Dave Thomson.

Restaurant functionality will be introduced and beta tested during the LIRN Dinner Show (Monday to Thursday evenings, starting at 6:00 PM). Initially, meal ordering will only be available during the livestream access ticket purchase process. Fans will be able to add a meal from participating local restaurants while purchasing their ticket, to enjoy during the show. Initial promotion and talent sourcing efforts will focus on the University of Toronto and the surrounding area.

TICKET PURCHASE - Buy Ticket Form

Ticket purchase form top section

This screen shows the top section of the ticket purchase form, where fans purchase access to the LIRN Dinner Show livestream. During this process, users can also add a meal order from participating restaurants, which is available as part of the ticket purchase flow.

TICKET PURCHASE - Ticket Info Form

Ticket information form for contact and payment details

Fans enter their required contact and payment information before proceeding. Following this process they can choose whether to include a meal order along with their livestream access ticket.

TICKET PURCHASE - Meal Selection Process

Meal selection expansion within ticket purchase form

If the fan selects “Livestream + Dinner,” the dinner selection options expand below within the form. The fan must then choose their meal acquisition method (pickup or delivery) and provide a valid address (for delivery) to view participating restaurants in their area.

TICKET PURCHASE - Restaurant Selection

Restaurant selection field with scheduling options

Once the user selects pickup or delivery and provides a valid address, available restaurants are populated in a selection field. Restaurants that are currently closed can still be selected; however, the user must schedule the pickup or delivery time within that restaurant’s operating hours for the current day. This allows users to plan a meal in advance for the Dinner Show livestream, even if the restaurant is not yet open.

Available scheduling times are determined by each restaurant’s Last Order Buffer (the cutoff time before closing when new orders are no longer accepted) and Minimum Lead Time (the minimum required preparation time for an order). Pickup and delivery times are offered in 15-minute intervals within valid operating hours. Meal purchases are only available for same-day ticket purchases.

TICKET PURCHASE - Restaurant Modal

Restaurant menu modal with cart and scheduling options

Once a restaurant is selected, its menu modal opens on top of the ticket purchase form. The restaurant’s details are displayed at the top, including its logo and key information. The Current Cart updates automatically as meals are selected. If the user closes the restaurant modal and opens another restaurant, the cart will retain their previously selected items. If meals are selected from a different restaurant, the cart updates to reflect the new selection.

Meal selections are tied to the user’s ticket session, which remains active for 5 minutes. During this time, up to 15 tickets are reserved from the available pool. If the user is disconnected or refreshes the page, both their reserved tickets and meal selections persist, allowing them to resume the purchase process upon returning.

This screen also includes the Order Timing option. Users can choose “Now” or “Schedule for Later.” Selecting “Schedule for Later” opens a time selection field, where available pickup or delivery times are based on the restaurant’s operating hours, Last Order Buffer, and Minimum Lead Time settings.

TICKET PURCHASE - Meal Selection(s)

Restaurant meal list with specials and pickup-only indicators

The user can scroll to view the restaurant’s active meals. If delivery is selected and a meal is marked as Pickup Only, it will appear greyed out and unavailable for selection. Meals marked as Specials are labeled accordingly and, if the restaurant has enabled List Specials First in its settings, will appear at the top of the menu. Otherwise, they are displayed within the standard meal list.

Restaurants may organize meals into sections (such as “Main” or “Sides”)—this feature is pending. If a meal includes priced Choice Groups, the displayed price will indicate “(base)”, with additional costs applied based on selected options.

Each meal displays an image (if provided), along with its name and description. To add a meal to the current cart, the user clicks the “Add” button on the right side of the item.

TICKET PURCHASE - Meal Selection Required Choice Group

Choice group selection panel with required options

If a selected meal includes Choice Groups, the option selection panel expands below the item. If multiple quantities of the same meal are added, a separate set of Choice Group selections will appear for each item.

For required Choice Groups (such as steak cooking preferences like “Rare” or “Well Done”), the section remains highlighted until a valid selection is made. If the user exits the restaurant modal without completing the required selections, a reminder is shown. The ticket purchase cannot be completed until all required selections have been properly filled or their current cart is cleared.

TICKET PURCHASE - Submitted Required Choice Group (green)

The first choice is required, since it has been set as “One Choice Only” and “Req” when the Meal Item was being configured, so one selection must be selected prior to checkout.

TICKET PURCHASE - Apply Different Selections To Each Half?

Apply different selections to each half option panel

If a Choice Group is configured with Split Option Enabled (set in the Choice Group section of the Restaurant App), the fan can select “Apply Different Selections to Each Half?” within the option panel.

  • When enabled, each available option will display “1st” and “2nd” buttons, allowing the fan to assign selections to each half of the meal item.
  • Each half-selection counts as 0.5 of a selection. For example, if the Choice Group allows a maximum of 2 selections, enabling split options allows up to 4 half-selections (2 per half).
  • If the Choice Group includes priced options (such as “Premium Medium Pizza Toppings”), each half-selection is charged at 50% of the full selection price, since it applies to only half of the item.

TICKET PURCHASE - Half Selections With Price

Half selections with priced premium choice group options

Shown here are Premium Choice Group upgrades/add-ons that include an additional cost.

  • These Choice Groups are configured to allow multiple selections with multiple quantities per choice and have no maximum limit, meaning the fan can select as many options as desired.
  • Because the Split Option is enabled for this Choice Group, each selected option applied to a half counts as a half selection.
  • As a result, each selection is charged at 50% of the standard price, since it is applied to only one half of the meal item.
